Product Sampling Builds Brand Loyalty
According to a recent study from Young America (YA), more than half (53%) of Americans said they often or always end up buying a product they had sampled. Plus, 77% of that same group said receiving a sample of a product would encourage them to try another product by the same brand, and 42% would even switch from their current brand.
These numbers sound awfully convincing, don’t they? Well, despite these results, sampling is still a highly under-utilized form of marketing. Sixty percent of those surveyed had not received any samples in the past year.
YA president and CEO Chris Behrens said “In today’s digital world, it’s not just about getting one product into the hands of a consumer, it’s about building an ongoing relationship with that consumer who may switch to your brand and then convince others to do the same.”
