Take Your Yoga Practice from Great to Amazing
Whether you practice or teach at home or at a studio, alone or with many people, these tips will help you take your yoga practice from great to amazing.
Essential Oils
If you’re not on the essential oil train yet, your yoga practice is a great way to introduce yourself to the world of aromatherapy. There is an oil for any intention you choose for your daily practice. Here are a few options to try:
- For grounding: ginger, patchouli, cedarwood
- For strengthening and centering: sandalwood, cedarwood, myrrh, frankincense
- For calming: lavender geranium, chamomile, vetiver
- To soothe sore muscles: basil, coriander, cypress, lavender, rosemary, wintergreen
Walk to Class
If you’re lucky enough to live close to wherever you practice or teach, try walking instead of driving. Not only is walking a great way to warm up your muscles before class, it also puts you in a good mood and improves your balance.
Music
If you have control over what music you listen to, try a new playlist. Maybe you get your ideas from Yoga Girl or your fave celeb, or you pull your own favorite songs that are sure to boost your energy and put you in a great mood.
Meditate
Not only is yoga a physical practice, it is a mental practice. Try incorporating meditation into your yoga routine to increase immune function, decrease anxiety and more.
Wishing you an amazing yoga practice today and always!
